A Clear Process From RFQ to Production Release

Quality requirements are defined by the approved drawing, sample standard, inspection method and production control plan. The process below shows the typical project sequence.

01 · RFQ

Files & Requirements

Receive 3D/2D files, material, color, finish, annual volume, target timing and market requirements.

02 · REVIEW

DFM & Quotation

Review manufacturability, mould concept, key risks, cavity plan, machine fit and commercial requirements.

03 · DESIGN

Mould Engineering

Complete the mould design and obtain approval before steel cutting and purchased component release.

04 · TOOLING

Build & T0

CNC, EDM, wire EDM, fitting and assembly. A typical target to T0 is approximately 26 days.

05 · VALIDATION

Samples & Inspection

Trial moulding, dimensional inspection, sample review, correction and customer approval.

06 · RELEASE

Production & Delivery

Mass production, finishing, assembly, packing and arranged international delivery.

Common questions

Quality & Tooling FAQ

Do you provide DFM before mould construction?

Yes. DFM and technical review are used to identify moulding, tooling, appearance and dimensional risks before design approval and steel cutting.

How are moulded parts inspected?

Inspection is based on the approved drawing, sample standard and agreed project requirements. Depending on the product, inspection may include dimensional measurement, appearance checks, functional review and assembly verification.

What happens after the T0 mould trial?

T0 samples are inspected and reviewed against the approved requirements. Any moulding, appearance, dimensional or assembly issues are recorded and corrected before the next trial and customer sample approval.

How is quality controlled during mass production?

Production quality is controlled according to the approved drawing, confirmed sample, inspection criteria and project control plan. The required inspection frequency and records are agreed for each customer program.

How is mould life defined?

The typical range is approximately 300,000 to 1,000,000 shots. The committed target is stated in the quotation and depends on steel, construction, resin, maintenance and operating conditions.

How long does it take to reach T0?

A typical target is approximately 26 days. Actual timing depends on tool size, complexity, steel, hot runner components, design approval and changes.

What part tolerances can YIOT MOULD achieve?

Achievable tolerance depends on part size, geometry, material, mould construction and measurement method. Critical dimensions are reviewed during DFM and confirmed against the approved drawing before mould manufacturing.

What quality documents can be supplied?

The document package is agreed by project and may include dimensional inspection, sample records and current applicable supplier or quality documents.
